Animal Collective “Centipede Hz” | Domino Records

After three years since their praised album Merriweather Post Pavilion, Animal Collective, returns this year with a new studio album entitled Centipede Hz ( Domino Records). The band made the record available to the public with 11 tracks that are accompanied by insane but amazing visuals, created by Abby Portner.

This will be the ninth album in the band’s career and was recorded between last year and this year in the city of Baltimore where the group was formed. Brian Weitz said ”they had gone back to their roots” . The production was conducted by the band and producer Ben Allen.

Centipede Hz can be heard online at www.radio.myanimalhome.net, the radio station that the band introduced last month. Also, they have released a music video for “Today’s Supernatural”, the first single off the album. As the story goes with all of Animal Collective’s music videos, it is not a conventional one. The video was directed by their frequent collaborator Danny Perez. It shows Avery Tare playing keyboards, dressed as some sort of skeleton clown, while a dragon drives around the desert in a go-kart in order not to be struck by a pair of arms flying by themselves.

The album was fully released on September 3 in the UK and 4 in the United States.
