Bio from Yuko:

I’m a freelance illustrator originally from Japan currently based in UK. I graduated from University of Brighton, where I studied BA Illustration, in summer 2009 and have been freelancing as an illustrator since then.

The inspiration for my visual aesthetic comes from a range of subjects, such as organic natural forms, historical scientific diagrams and the playfulness of Modernist typography.

Ernst Haeckel’s work is one of the major influences on my passion for creation. Another is the detailed photography of Karl Blossfeldt. These artists focus on the intricate nature of real and unreal lifeforms, and continue to be a great inspiration on my work.
