Many tour dates this coming year, secure a ticket if you have not already, many of the dates are already sold out. I would like to give a very special thanks to the taper of this recording, the person responsible for uploading it to the dimeadozen community and all the people who go out of their way to make recordings like this happen. And of course to those of you out here that enjoy listening to this kind of thing. ~ Erik Otis

This year’s Nightmare Before Christmas was curated by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. The band played all 3 days. Unfortunately I was unable to record the first day. This is the second day.
I had heard that on the first day, the band had taken to the stage early – had started a drone – at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. As a result I tried hard to get there early, however there was quite a queue and so I didn’t enter til approx 15 minutes before the scheduled start. As expected the band had started a drone, so this recording fades in as I’m walking to the middle.
I manually inserted a split after track 4, to avoid the mt2496 doing bad things (since I knew it would be a long set). No music was lost, just a few seconds of applause.
Very dark set. After the gig I heard that the setlist was quite different to the first day.
Slight crackling on a handful of occasions. This recording also available in 24-bit.

Great stuff, although having problems with megaupload. any change of upping it to the http://www.archive.org website, there are already 50 GY!BE bootlegs up there…
we figured someone else would be on top of that, I checked the links and they are working fine, it might just be your region, give it a bit and try again.
Hi,
track 2 is called Albanian: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtA1E3REY0g
and track 3 is still the same track – Albanian.
Anyways, geat upload, sound needs som equalizer correction, bud I appreciate the FLAC track format.
thanks for the bit of extra info, much appreciated :)
Thanks!
Tracks 6 & 7 are the same track, called “Gamelan”. Like “Albanian”, it’s a track never released on GY!BE albums until now.
thanks for the comment, can’t wait to see them at the fox in Pomona!
They really should play some new music. In the vein of Rocket Falls, pls.
hot dogs and popcorn can also be bought at the closest concession stand
