Jeff Jordan and Sonny Kay present Parallel Universes
Two artists from the same area, yet from two separate generations: Jeff Jordan and Sonny Kay. Over the past several years these two have been collaborating together under the rule of mutual friends. But now that this year is ending, they brought this collaboration full circle by showcasing their works at Parallel Universes: a special two-week run at LA’s Hold Up art gallery. Opening night for Parallel Universes was November 20 and SCV was lucky enough to have our own members present for some analog photographic documentation. I hope you enjoy this and live the event through us vicariously, for those of you who don’t live in California. -Pouya G

I’m truly grateful to Jeff for posing a serious challenge for me this year – whether he knew it or not – and to Hold Up Art for providing not only the space for the exhibit but the enthusiasm and encouragement to get it off the ground. Seeing our work hanging side by side confirmed every hope I had for the potential of the show, and walking through the gallery on opening night was the most incredibly fulfilling reward for a year of short nights and stiff necks. I really think Jeff and I have brought out the best in one another. I feel a great sense of accomplishment.
