Sound Colour Vibration is expanding yet again and this time it will be in the context of rare and excellent sounding bootlegs which we will upload to MegaUpload for your easy download access. We will only upload material that is not commercially available, this will be a series for those who have heard many albums from the artists we cover and want to find out and hear more, artists like Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, etc. We will focus on a few artists but our archive will expand in the coming months.

John McLaughlin is an English guitarist whose vast understanding of music and spirituality touched the lives of many around the world. In the early 70′s he started Mahavishnu Orchestra, which was a mind shifting collection of talent and creative power. This all came after he came from England to play with Miles Davis extensively. All of this gathering of technique, experience and his own inner search for the divine spirit within himself, he reached a creative surge in the 70′s when he started to infuse the spiritual teachings of guru Sri Chinmoy, who McLaughlin along with Santana had become disciples of, vastly into his works. Love Devotion Surrender saw Carlos Santana, Larry Young, Billy Cobham, John McLaughlin and others taking this momentum all were sharing to its creative peak.

During this period and after he changed his Mahavishnu line up, John McLaughlin had recorded music with his wife Eve McLaughlin, where both sing and play a multitude of instruments. The tracks are really beautiful and show a very soft and gentle side to his works, one of introspective connectivity to the female energy of this world. There is lots of space and all solos are tastefully sized down and every note is given extra attention. This LP was scrapped by the record label CBS and shelved for many years until it made its way out in the form it has. We have decided to upload this as another rare recording in an extensive project we are starting to present the best sounding boots around. The files are in FLAC, if you need help with playing the files please leave us a comment and we can get you on your way. ~ Erik Otis

I question whether this album was actually ‘unreleased’. I bought this exact album from a Target store in Minnesota around 1975 and have recently been trying to obtain another copy of this interesting collection. I don’t know what ever happened to my original album, but I remember it displayed the photo shown here of Eve and John. Thanks for posting this collection.
