About the Artist
Los Angeles native Rick Rodriguez has a distinctive way of combining street, rural, cultural and musical influences onto found objects. He collectively uses images of intense passion so vividly by means of environment as his canvas. Painting with brilliant colors, traditional, abstract, surreal and urban styles with provocative beauty, using products of his surroundings; building grand scenes with either collective scales using doors, textures, wood, metals, pallets, surfaces; old and new. Bringing his ideas to life; using life experiences as a key influence to give off immense chemistry between breathtaking visuals as well as momentous storytelling. Rick’s a constant innovator in materials and design. He speaks through a relationship with his work to his audience. By this he creates his rapport with different painting techniques through materials; using acrylics, oils, markers, yarn, fabrics ,and various materials. His talent will leave you enthralled. Creating an imprint of fascination for his ability of what he will present next.
The Process
Associates Degree in Graphic Design, Art Institute, San Diego, Ca.
While working on his Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, he was subsequently incarcerated.
Presently works in the Multi-Media Field.
Has continuous involvement in various collaborations, events, live paintings, mural, and art showings.

Porter Records was born in 2005 out of a love for crate digging in the basements of record shops. Porter’s founder, Luke Mosling, has a talent for finding the obscure, beautiful and strange recordings that may have previously gone unheard by a larger audience. This talent started the reissue portion of the Porter Records catalog.
When doing reissues, Porter works hard at creating strong relationships with the original artists or their estates. This allows Porter to respect not only the original vision of the artist and their recordings, but also to respect the vision the artist has for the future. Porter’s goal is to make these reissues more widely known and recognized as important pieces of art within their respected genres.
Porter Records is more than a reissue label. Porter has over 40 releases by modern composers and performers that bring something special to the current day music tapestry. Each release is like a hidden jewel providing its own unique color and brilliance. Porter Records is very proud to have such talented artists and a diverse catalog of genres in a time when the music industry is pumping out replica after replica.
